Minibosses and puzzles
Since development of his game started in 2010 (I wish I had more time for this hobby) things have changed quite a bit. Back then a game like this was a charming, pixely game. I realised it now was one of the many games that try to hide an overly simple game behind a minimal retro look. The only thing it had going for it were some secret pasages, a big overworld to explore and suddenly teleporting enemies. Other than that it was a pretty straightforward decent platformer.
To get with the times I decided to add some things to make the game more interesting in the form of minibosses and minipuzzles to get the player engaged, without destracting from the game by feature-creeping it. The upside of this is I am learning quite a bit, the downside is it will take some more time to get this game done (it has been at "around 95% done" for a while now).
